Low vs Diamond

Just saw Low vs Diamond live at the Troubadour (LA) a few nights ago. These boys are stepping it up... and getting seriously good at putting on a show. They're on our (and, ahem, Rolling Stone's) hot list.

LA: space 15 twenty

space 15 twenty opened their doors yesterday. it's an outdoor retail space with gallery, a sweet bookstore (NY-based TV Books), and the standard urbn outfizzers. the opening festivities included colt 45s, a mexican taco truck, a photo booth, all three of which i maturely under-indulged in. CHAIRLIFT performed live, and the lead singer either had a crush on me or a lazy eye, or maybe she was just thirsty for my beverage. :) either way she's a beauty, and her voice is stunning.

Kanye West : Naked

Last night we were invited to a private listening event for Kanye West. Vanessa Beecroft (an italian artist) did the visuals. The event was fantastic. Held at an abandoned parking garage. Ms. Beecroft curated 40 nude women (not fully nude, they wore designer stilettos, dahling) and everyone was backlit by a deep pulsating red light. It was an intimate event and Kanye spoke heartfelt words. In his own words, the album is his "naked" self expression for all to see.
