The First Ever People's Sessions...

...happened a few nights ago featuring a magical performance by THE WHITE BUFFALO(click on name to see his website) in the stairwell of The People's Shoe's HQ in Downtown LA. It was a jazzy little evening that also included an inspiring talk by The Plastic Pollution Coalition(click on link) teaching us about what we can do to stop the ever destructive "single use plastics." The crowd was especially full of cheer thanks to friendly conversation and the homemade, organic, Topanga Elixir (with or without vodka or rum!) that my girlfriend brought down.

This was one of my favorite performances of all time by one of our favorite singer songwriters today....I recommend all of you to check out THE WHITE BUFFALO by clicking on his name and also The Plastic Pollution Coalition .

there has been a faint whisper of TPS puttin' together an intimate live music show case series at our headquarters in Downtown LA...that whisper turned into a roar when one of our favorite musicians, THE WHITE BUFFALO called and said if we got the beer he would gladly play in the stairwell with his road savvy band backin'. the super-famous vegan BABYCAKES has made its way from NY to open it's doors this week in DTLA. I had a gluten free vanilla cupcake, with spelt vanilla frosting. the cupcake itself was just OK. kinda bland. a bit too spongy. however, the spelt frosting was SO good it almost made up for the mediocre cupcake. But then again, I could have saved the $4 (not exactly recession friendly) and just got a taste of frosting. mmmmm. OH and they do a cookie sandwich with frosting in the middle... next time.

DTLA is so not what it used to be a couple years ago... we'll save u the cliches, but we all know that the hipster to homeless ratio at this point is pretty much 1:1. So I (Anton) was on my morning walk today (houndstooth pleated shorts, coffee, NYtimes), as I literally stumbled into VIRGO. It's a little hipster haven with one-of-a-kind silkscreened tees, vintage army jackets, & military boots. It has the feel of the LES, without the cooler-than-thou attitude.
